Description
Part of lamellar armour. The iron plate is slightly convex and has eight punched holes. The iron lamellae were connected to each other with cords made of textile or leather, thus forming a strong but flexible suit of armour for the nomadic horsemen. The lamella is made of wrought iron. The punched holes were used to connect it to neighbouring rows of lamellae or to fasten it to some organic material. Lamellar armour is the typical armour of medieval elite warriors from Inner Asia.
