Description

Weights and measures are indispensable tools in trade and crafts. Different weights were found in every remaining cultural layer in the ground as a witness to the history of Karakorum. A bell-shaped weight with a cap and bar-shaped weights made of iron, bronze and cast iron were found. They were used to weigh goods by hanging the weight on a hook on a pair of scales and then moving it. The weights found in Karakorum were originally made to certain standards.
