Training and Knowledge Transfer<\/h1>\n

Educational work and knowledge transfer have played a very important role for the Mongolian and German participants at various levels since the start of the project and it was clear from the outset that, in addition to active research work, far-reaching cultural debate and exchange were also very important.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Funding for Training and Further Education<\/h2>\n

The German and Mongolian students and staff were regularly taught the history of archaeology, excavation methods and techniques, Mongolian language and history, surveying techniques and source research in summer schools held parallel to the excavation. This new knowledge was simultaneously applied in practice on the excavation and deepened and consolidated in regular discussions.\u202fIn dissertations, master’s, bachelor’s or diploma theses, results of the excavation were evaluated and published. At the same time, the study of the archaeology and history of the country was further deepened throughout the year during reciprocal research stays in Germany and Mongolia. Study visits to Germany lasting several years, which were funded by the German Academic Exchange Service, were also realized.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Restoration<\/h2>\n

In addition to the training and further education of archaeologists, cooperation in the field of restoration and preventive conservation has also become increasingly important within the research project in recent years.<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n
